Viola in the EcoSono Ensemble for the premiere of The Metered Tide by Chris Chafe and Greg Niemeyer — for coastal data sonification/visualization and improvising musicians — at the Coastal Futures Festival Symposium, presented online by the Coastal Futures Conservatory at the University of Virginia (McIntire Department of Music Composition & Computer Technologies Colloquium Series). The Metered Tide was an award winner in the 2021 International Competition for Ecoacoustic Music.

The Metered Tide: Chris Chafe (celletto) with the EcoSono Ensemble — Siyang Sophia Shen (pipa & piano), Kelly Sulick (flute), Matthew Burtner (saxophone), Glen Whitehead (trumpet), Brian Lindgren (viola), Kevin Davis (cello); Travis Thatcher, recording engineer.

The symposium program also included Matthew Burtner’s Glisten of Places (Jeremy Muller, percussion) and Chorale by Joyce To and Louis Pino.
